Search
Engine Optimization or SEO is gaining popularity especially to e-commerce
Web sites. The problem arises when you have built a very elaborate
Web site complete with all the recent technologies like Java, ASP,
PHP, etc., but you are not receiving hits or visitors on your website.
In common practice, when a internet surfer looks for a particular product
on the internet, he goes to Google, MSN or Yahoo and types in the product.
He then searches only the first pages of the search results for price
comparison. Once he gets the lowest price or best deal, he completes
the transaction by going to the site and completing the shopping cart.
But what happens if your hi-tech website is not on the first page of
the search results or even the first 5 or first 10 pages? It basically
doesn't follow the old adage "Build it, and they shall come!".
The most important thing to remember in Search Engine Optimization
is to have the search engines rules applied to your own Web site. There
are a lot of do's and don'ts and you must be aware of this if not,
the consequences could be devastating to all your Web site investment.
http://www.aplustele.com is
one of the websites that I have designed and meticulously programmed
for Google Search Engine Optimization. The Web site is a start from
0 or shall I say a start from scratch, literally. I was able to get
great results after 6 months from the submission or launching of the
site. From 0 visitors to over 800 average daily visitors. From $0.00
sales to over $xx,xxx.00 per week to over $xxx,xxx.00 sales annually.
That is what I mean by SEO to the max!
The cost of SEO? Do not believe if you see Web sites offering $200.00
to $500.00 for SEO packages. These websites are just offering you submissions
which you yourself can do anyway.
My SEO plan has 5 steps:
First step: Evaluate your existing
Web site: Where it is now, how it is programmed, technologies used,
etc.
Second step: Perform keyword analysis like keyword
ranking, competitor's keyword comparative analysis, etc.
Third step: Program the website for search engine submission.
Fourth step: Web site submission to search engines and Directories.
Links trading to similar Web sites.
Fifth step: Monitoring of Web site Statistics like visitors, most viewed
pages, etc.
Imagine how many hours it will take to apply all these SEO steps to
your Web site. If you are willing to invest a lot of money for an e-commerce
Web site, then it would be wise to go the extra mile and invest a little
bit more for it to actually start selling your products. There are
thousands of Web sites created and submitted to search engines and
directories everyday. There are thousands if not millions of Web sites
selling the same items that you are selling on the internet. Don't
you think your website deserves to be the FIRST one to offer the same
item to the millions of internet surfers around the world?
